You just made yourself available

I’ve been collecting pictures that I really have meant to share, but keep getting distracted by my inherent laziness.

Is that… a lynx?

I don’t know what’s going on here, but I like the way it sounds. Let’s test this hypothesis!

FLYING SQUIRREL!

Two new DESTROY stickers. The first is definitely new, and evidence that the movement still has its champions. The second looked older, and is in a neighborhood I never visit, so it may be a relic of past endeavors.

The following were sent to me from the Bay Area.

I’m conjuring up all the good juju I can manage and sending out waves of positive vibes to make all your dreams come true. Bask in their glory and know that my word is law. All that is meant to be shall come to pass. Nil desperandum, dearest.

Blame it all on my roots

Let’s start this post off with a show of appreciation to two kind souls who have contributed to the ongoing efforts I have initiated to capture all the DESTROY incidental art I can find.

First up we have this image sent to me by a dear friend. This design has been documented, but not this particular location. Discovered in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle.

Second, we have this image sent to me by Joseph Pyne. The design is slightly different from the local designs, but what makes this absolutely remarkable is that it surfaced in Hagerstown, Maryland. This is about as far from Seattle as you can get, without ending up in Florida, or leaving the country, altogether.

Throwing my anarchist friends another bone. Within a few weeks, the last vestiges of this endeavor will have peeled off or been painted over, so they’ll need all the pictures they can score to remind them of that time they changed the world with abstruse graffiti.

This is not graffiti, but an early salute to Thursday.

Off to make some more headway in this Neil Gaiman book. I am still having difficulty figuring out how he’s so… celebrated. Alas, if everyone wrote like William Gibson, even soap operas would be tolerable. Problem? I would venture to bet not…

Until then, etc. etc.

What’s happenin’?

Some more good news from around town.

It has been alluded that this is the secret behind my youthful appearance (or “baby face” as some insist). I remain silent on the subject. But, it’s nice to see another graffiti trend cropping up in my neighborhood.

There’s got to be a silver lining here somewhere…

This hurt my soul so very, very much.

Another sticker that just leaves me flabbergasted.

And last, but certainly not least, another DESTROY image. This one I’ve posted before, but not from my own collection; and it’s new, so that means someone, somewhere is carrying on with this endeavor. Huzzah!

Prayers: Answered

No sooner had I bemoaned the possible demise of the DESTROY phenomenon, than I discovered some new tags. The first one is likely old, given the condition of the stickers, but I had somehow overlooked it, and the grouping warranted documentation.

The second two may look familiar to my local readers (both of you). I’m a little saddened by the overtly political nature of the stickers, but not really surprised. I’m really done rolling my eyes over the entire situation, so I won’t speak to it and simply present these two for the sake of documentation.
